MEAN,THOUGHTLESS PEOPLE
To-day I read a news article written by Ingrid Peritz in Montreal. It was in the Globe and Mail, and concerned a very prestigious Brebeuf College in Montreal which is a Jesuit Founded secondary school and has a high standing in the Montreal educational community. Ms Laurent-Auger was terminated from the school after some male high-school students found some film on the internet showing her in the nude in some films made in Europe almost 50 years ago Pierre Trudeau and his son Justin graduated from this institution, and I can sympathize to a certain extent with the administration. But not entirely! It happened such a long time ago, in a different age and the administration could have sent a letter out to all the parents, explaining the situation and the fact that it was not pornographic but artistic. Since Ms Laurent-Augur is a teacher of good standing now, what she did 50 years ago should not have played a part in her dismissal.
What gives me grief is that an adult, possibly an old acquaintance who had the film posted it on the internet. How mean could they be to do such a dastardly act, knowing full well it would bring grief to Ms Laurent-Auger. Some people just don’t care.
