Rob Ford a Buffoon For Mayor

Before I even get started, I am going to answer the question all my readers want to ask me. YES! I voted for Rob Ford for mayor and the reasons are those  that most voters gave. He said he was going to be much more careful when he spent the city`s money, and more important than that for me, he listened on the phone for nearly ¾ hour as I explained my ideas  should he be elected. I could not believe that he took all this time with an unknown, but subsequently I found out that was his method of promoting himself for mayor. He followed in office David Miller, a left –winger and an N.D.P. member who completely capitulated to the city`s union of garbage collectors and left a very bad tastes and smell in the minds of Toronto`s citizenry. For weeks garbage was strewn over some city parks and the voters were ready for a right -winger to put the unions in their place and to save money. It is in the nature of politics that spenders and savers follow in succession to one another and whether in fact Ford saved more money for Torontonians than anybody else would have, is a question no one can answer To the best of my knowledge the ¾ hour spent on the phone with Ford was a waste of time and resulted In little or no change. It was his way of gaining supporters. I proposed the following. Big stadiums like The Rexall Centre and The Air Canada Centre must have many more women`s washrooms as the women for obvious reasons take must longer and there are so many line-ups, while the men go in and out This can be accomplished very simply with a bi-law. I suggested that a line be drawn on each side of a fire hydrant so that drivers know where they can legally park. It is illegal to park closer than 3 metres from a hydrant but who carries a tape measure, or is this an insidious plan to fill the city’s coffers. And last but not least!

Have you ever noticed how the lampposts, which are city property, are full of pasted on, glued on, and ripped off signs hanging from the post. They are the work of local small entrepreneurs looking for free advertising but leaving a mess in the city streets. That was my last idea for Rob Ford. Make it illegal to post signs on lampposts or trees with a fine if the bi-law is not followed. Allow companies to construct bulletin boards all over the city with their name on the top and the fact that they paid for the bulletin board. The bulletin board has a glass covering with a lock on it. If local businesses want to advertise they approach the senior who is in control of each board and has the key to open the glass door, pay him $10, 00 or some other small amount for a month`s advertising. The senior keeps the money for his efforts. The people in the neighbourhood will soon learn to visit the board to see the ads and the seniors will have a little extra income and a job. No messy streets Everybody benefits Rob Ford did not see fit to promote any of my ideas as he was only interested in my vote which he will not get in the next election but not because he did not put my ideas on his agenda. How can you vote for a chronic liar, a man who associates with known criminals, a person who takes illegal drugs and most important of all, shows he has no respect for his wife by bringing her into a press conference where he embarrasses her with sexual innuendoes. By wanting to run again Rob Ford shows he has no respect or love for Toronto. He just wants the glory of being mayor of Toronto but the city is now , after his tenure ,the laughing stock of the world. To vote for Rob Ford before knowing his personality traits is forgivable, to vote for him now is not. Toronto would remain the laughing stock of the world.
