CAR INSURANCE CAN COST YOU, READ THE FINE PRINT OF THE POLICY

My wife owned an 11 year old Lexus, in perfect condition. She took it into Lexus for all the service calls. No problem! We left the driveway of our condo building, turned left on Heath St and waited for the red light to turn green at Heath St. and Avenue Rd. My wife was driving and I was in the passenger side both with our seat belts on. When the light turned green my wife started our car and proceeded across. Half-way across we were hit by a car going full speed. The driver smashed into the front wheel of our car and he ran out of his car shouting” Are you Ok, I went through a red light” . Both cars were severely damaged. My wife suffers from cracked ribs in her chest. The Lexus people towed our car and came up with a $9,000 figure for repair and a figure of $12,000 for the value of the car. The insurance company would not fix our car, they considered it a right-off and they only would give me the value of our car. But there was a catch. We had to sign the wrecked car over to them. When they sell the parts of our 11 year old Lexus they probably got most of the money back. But it cost us close to $10,000 extra above the $12,000 I received from the insurance company to buy a 2 year old Honda
